♡⸻ Label roles

The #roles-extended channel has an array of optional identity labels. While you do not need to use these, they can sometimes convey information about your relationships or self-ships without you having to necessarily state it, e.g. that the characters you self-ship with are NOT reflective of your real-life identity, that you DO see your objects as sentient, etc.

Some of the terms, including ones related to plurality or objectum, may not be well-known, so this page lists lesser-known terms.

♡⸻ Glossary

Auto-spec: Someone who is attracted to themself, exclusively or not. This can include fictives who are attracted to their sources. Some systems also feel that their in-system relationships are auto-spec. However, it is usually understood to refer to someone with an attraction to the actual body they are in or who has romantic feelings for themself as a person.

Cenelian: Someone who is non-binary and gay for non-binary people.

Cupio-spec: Cupiosexuality is an ace-spec identity in which one does not experience sexual attraction but wants to have sex anyway. Cupio-spec would be anyone who does not experience a certain type of attraction but wants to participate in those types of actions anyway.

Ficto-auto-spec: Someone who is attracted to fictional depictions of themself, e.g. fictionfolk attracted to their source characters. While this can fit under "auto-spec", some people who are ficto-auto-spec may not be auto-spec in general.

Mspec: Short for "multi-spectrum". This is someone who is attracted to multiple genders. "Mspec gay" is an identity where someone identifies with a gay identity but is attracted to more than one gender (may not include the "opposite" gender as them).

Nebula-spec: Nebularomantic is an aro-spec identity in which one has difficulty distinguishing platonic from romantic feelings due to neurodivergence. Nebula-spec is anyone who may experience a certain type of attraction but has difficulty distinguishing it from other types of feelings due to neurodivergence.

Objectix: An objectum person who does not see objects as sentient. While perception of object sentience is not inherently a part of objectum, it often is, and this label exists to distinguish that one does not see their objects as sentient.

Plurautonic: A system who has in-system relationships that feel auto-spec.

Plurillean: Someone who is attracted to the members of their own system, exclusively or not. This label would apply to you if you had in-system relationships.

POSIC: An acronym that stands for "Perception of Object Sentience, Individuality, and Consciousness". POSIC people see objects as sentient or as having feelings and thoughts. POSIC is not inherently queer or inherently linked to objectum, but it is often a part of objectum for people.

Quoi-spec: Quoiromantic is an aro-spec identity in which one has difficulty telling platonic feelings from romantic feelings, for any reason. Quoi-spec is anyone who may experience a certain type of attraction but has difficulty distinguishing it from other types of attraction.

Sysian: Someone who is exclusively attracted to members of their own system. While individual headmates may be sysian and others are not, a system can also collectively have this identity.

Torian: A non-binary person who is gay for men. "Veldian" includes non-binary people, but "torian" specifies it.

Toric: A non-binary person who is attracted to men, exclusively or not.

Trixian: A non-binary person who is gay for women. "Lesbian" includes non-binary people, but "trixian" specifies it.

Trixic: A non-binary person who is attracted to women, exclusively or not.

Veldian: A synonym for "gay man", including ones who aren't necessarily men.
