♡⸻ About the server

Welcome to LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.txt (aka Love Letter), an adults-only, judgment-free, anti-harassment server for talking about self-ship, objectum, and in-system relationships!

In addition to some general channels, we have sections for self-ships, objectum, and plurality. You can gush about your F/Os, objectum attractions, and relationships with your headmates.

While we don't consider this the main draw or emphasis of the server, we also facilitate NSFW discussion, as well as discussion of darker themes (e.g. fictional violence or incest).

We also have personal channels, where you can post anything within what the server allows. While you can mute others' personal channels if they post things you dislike, it's encouraged to interact with each others' personal channels often for the sake of community.

The server is themed around the ILOVEYOU virus and webcore/old web in general. I remember the days of the old web, and for all its problems, it was overall a more peaceful place than the current internet. People took more responsibility for themselves, they had a better separation between fiction and reality while also acknowledging gray areas, and dark fiction and kink appeared alongside other topics.

♡⸻ Opt-in sections

This server contains channels for topics or discussions that not everyone may want to see. These are accessed via roles in the basic roles section. In addition to general channels for these topics in an opt-in section, there are opt-in sections for self-ship, objectum, and plural specific discussions of these subjects.

NSFW is for any sexual or kink discussion. Please spoiler art that you feel is sexually explicit, but suggestive art doesn't have to be spoilered, nor does text.

NSFW-darker is for dark kink, e.g. fauxcest/incest, CNC, kidnapping, etc. Please don't glorify IRL harm, including in-system abuse, but fiction is A-okay.

Darker-topics is for any dark topic discussion that doesn't feel like it's sexual or for kink gratification. For example, cannibalism as horror and not as kink.

Substances is for talking about drugs and alcohol. Weed and alcohol do not need to be spoilered there. Spoiler other drugs or addiction at your discretion.

Substances-NSFW is for intox kink and the like. These have their own channels because substances and sex are often separate triggers for people. Because people can't really consent while they're high, this is inherently considered a "dark topics" type of area, but your tone may vary.

Adult-topics is for any adult topics that don't seem like they fit anywhere else but are more mature or adult in nature. For example, discussions of sex work, gambling, sexual abuse outside of venting, non-substance addiction, etc.

Vent is for "regular grade" venting. Spoiler heavy topics if they come up, and please don't use the vent channels excessively.

Heavy-vent is for venting about heavier topics, like sexual abuse, organized abuse, addiction, etc. Spoiler at your own discretion.

Personal channels are a feature of this server that contribute to a personal feel. In them, you can talk about whatever you like within what the server allows. It does not have to just be about self-ship, objectum, or plurality.

This means you can freely talk about darker topics or NSFW as long as you spoiler anything explicit or especially heavy if talking about it at length.

Restriction on venting outside of vent channels is loosened a little here, but I would really prefer you not treat the personal channels like personal vent channels in specific.

Users are encouraged to leave reactions and comments in each other's channels. You can also send people things like pictures of their F/Os, their favorite animal, etc.

In your application, you can request a channel, or you can do so afterwards in channel-request.

♡⸻ About the owner

This server is run by Local Void, a mixed origins complex DID system. Bodily, we are in our 30s, intersex, disabled, and white with Mexican heritage. We are collectively gay and explore a lot of our identity through self-shipping and in-system relationships. We are also objectum, namely for plushes, music, and buildings.

We've loved fictional characters for basically our whole life, and our first crush was likely Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park. However, we've also self-shipped with Puddleglum (The Chronicles of Narnia) and our OC Troy ever since we were a kid/preteen.

Our main F/O from published media nowadays is Thomas Jerome Newton (The Man Who Fell to Earth), but our main F/O overall is an OC named Troy Reiner, a fictionalized version of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

We are the owner and sole operator of the server, as we see our Discord servers as projects over which we prefer to have sole management, and running servers like this in the past has generally not caused problems. We are open to accepting new moderators, especially if they have different hours of availability to us or the server gets really big.

We are most active between 8 AM and 8 PM Pacific Time. Please feel free to ping or DM us. If we are away during hours we would normally be available, check the general chat or our personal channel to see if we mentioned going anywhere.
